Diabetes is often a source of emotional stress. Here are five ways to feel better:
Exercise
Getting started on a routine of combined aerobic and resistance training is one of the best things you can do to manage diabetes and improve your mental outlook. To target anxiety, add a dose of mindfulness to your routine, such as yoga or tai chi.
Become An Expert
The more you learn about diabetes, the more control you’ll have over your own well-being. Your doctor is a great resource and can connect you with others who can help, including a certified diabetes educator. A CDE is a health professional with specialized expertise in diabetes–for coaching on nutrition, exercise, medication and more.
